Basic Skincare Routine for Beginners

People having limited knowledge about skincare often spend a lot of money getting beauty treatments done at beauty parlors and salons. However, if you know a basic skincare routine for taking care of your skin at home, you need not go to the parlor frequently or depend on more costly beauty treatments.

Many people think beauty comes from expensive products, facials, and laser treatments, but this couldn’t be further from the truth!

The Basic Skincare Routine for Beginners is inexpensive and can be done at home with readily available items.

Basic Skincare Routine at Home

Essential Skincare Routine shouldn’t take you more than 15 minutes, even those who have never cared for their skin before can enjoy healthier-looking skin in just weeks!

It includes cleansing, moisturizing, and applying sunscreen. Daily use of these three things will help maintain your skin’s health and appearance.

Cleansing

Cleansing is the first step in your basic skincare routine. No matter what your skin type, you should cleanse your skin every morning and night.

Cleansing removes the surface impurities and makeup that accumulate during the day. Some basic steps for cleansing are to use a gentle cleanser to gently wash all of your face, neck, and around the ears for about 30 seconds per area. Make sure you rinse thoroughly with warm water, so no residue is left on your skin.

Cleansing can help prevent blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples from forming on the face.

Moisturizing

After cleansing, you need to apply moisture. Use a small amount of the moisturizer and gently massage it into the skin with upward circular movements for about 60 seconds.

Apply to the entire face, but pay special attention to areas with wrinkles or fine lines around the eyes, mouth, and neck area. Ensure that your moisturizer contains SPF to protect your skin from sun exposure.

To help prevent acne, choose a moisturizer that contains salicylic acid, which helps remove dead cell buildup and allows pores to be unclogged without causing irritation or drying out the skin.

Moisturizing your skin helps to hydrate your skin and prevent it from drying out.

Plus, ensure you’re taking care of your lips. Use vaseline or chapstick according to your preference.

Sunscreen

Sun protection is one essential part of a basic skincare routine.

You should apply sunscreen on exposed areas of the skin, 15 to 30 minutes before going outside. You should apply a sufficient amount to all exposed areas of the skin using your hands or a sponge.

Rub in well for 1-2 minutes and allow to set before getting dressed or going outdoors.

Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, more often if exposed to water or sweat occurs, after towel drying or swimming, after using a facial cleanser or exfoliant, when outside at midday, when in an area with high altitude, and when wearing protective clothing that might rub off sunscreens such as a hat or a scarf.

Conclusion

As you can see, skincare doesn’t have to be complicated. But it does require some attention and consistency if you want your skin to look its best for years to come.

You can be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if you don’t take care of your skin, you will never have a glowing complexion. Conversely, even if you’re not genetically blessed with perfect skin and bone structure, good skin care habits can make up for that.

Of course, you will also want to be making healthy changes to your diet and lifestyle. Just keep in mind that this is a basic skincare routine for beginners- it doesn’t include anything fancy or expensive, but it will give you an excellent base!

Besides skincare, follow a daily lip care routine to have healthy-looking smooth lips.
